Burnout, depression and suicidal thoughts, I always thought they happened to other people, weaker people, someone else… until they happened to me.

I didn’t know what was happening at the time, it just felt like failing.

I walked away from dentistry but found myself missing it.  I faced what I had been through and worked on my own recovery.  After a career switch to personal training and nutrition coaching, I wanted to go back.  Being a dentist is part of who I am and I needed to find a way to enjoy it again.

I had felt unprepared for the build up of stresses within my dental career.  I now speak and write to share my experiences, starting conversations to increase awareness of the mental and physical health problems that we face across the dental profession and beyond.
