I never expected to burn out.  I never thought I would suffer from depression.  I didn’t realise I had until I was on the mend.  It snuck up on me you see, I interpreted the warning signs as my own failings and an inability to cope.

I left dentistry for a while but I missed it, it’s part of who I am, as much as my other titles: wife, mum, personal trainer and coach.

There’s plenty of negativity to be found in dentistry but there are a lot of bright spots too.  So, here’s to making those bright spots bigger and more frequent, to not getting lost to the dark side and achieving your work/life harmony.  Welcome to my blog, I hope that my musings will help you or someone you know thrive rather than just survive a full career in dentistry.
